SKATZLE

[ˈskɛɪ̯t͡sl̩] - Protoype of a skate-puzzler

Again tried to see how far i could take an idea in about 2 weeks, so its really unpolished - tutorial coming soon(ish). I recommend you start in park creator with an empty park and get used to the controls (shown in the lower left of the UI) and the placement of built-in obstacles (left side in editor view) and puzzlepieces (left side in editor view).

Play-Mode:

Solve puzzles by navigating your skater through the park and hit crazy tricks on the way! Place curves and small obstacles to reach the finish line, while hitting all the tricks required of you.

Editor-Mode:

Build Puzzle-Skateparks, solve them - and upload then upload them for everyone to solve! Set the required tricks, the amount of pushes and place obstacles wherever you want. You need to finish a park with the required tricks in order to upload it. When other people play your park, built-in obstacles (left side in editor view) will stay where they are, while smaller Obstacles (right side in editor view) still have to be placed in a fitting way to finish the park.

Ride-Only-Parks:

In Ride-Only-Parks, you can't place any obstacle. It's just for riding and getting a good time / score. Creating Ride-Only-Parks takes up a lot of space, due to memory storage, so it's a bit limited.

Looks fantastic but hard for me to play :( I am not sure what exactly to do and when to do it. The genre mix does not make sense to me at this time even though I tried all levels.

I do not know what a 'grab' or 'flip' is in terms of the game and how to make one happen.

It being a mixed genre game, a tutorial to introduce things elements would make it a lot more engaging and understandable, I think.

Really like the concept... just needs some introduction to the mechanics.

Good luck!

hey there! thanks so much for the feedback, actually didnt expect someone to try it so fast :D yeah, really need to make a tutorial. you can do a fliptrick with spacebar when you're in mid-air and a grab-trick with holding E, also while in mid-air.

Basically the idea is: you can build a puzzle-park in the park editor, set the goals in terms of the number of tricks you should do before reaching the finish line and the amount of pushes available to you, finish the puzzle and upload it for others to play. so feel free to build one :)

might do some quality of life updates soon(ish)

My pleasure!  It has the potential to be kind of a Skateboard Park Tycoon puzzler thing.

A shame no one else has left any comments as it is visually well polished.

I will follow and see what happens or does not, soonish or neverish...I get it!   :)
